The Department of Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting at NYU Dentistry is seeking qualified applicants for a 12-month full-time (3.5 days a week) faculty position on the non-tenure Clinical Educator track. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to clinical, pre-clinical, laboratory, didactic sessions and committee involvement. The qualified applicant will guide dental hygiene and dental assisting students in developing the necessary knowledge and skills to provide oral health care to a diverse patient population.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for the rank of Clinical Instructor is $70K - $110K. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
The ideal candidate must possess a BS or BA degree or higher in Dental Hygiene or related field from a school accredited by the U.S. Department of Education, a minimum of three (3) years of full or part-time clinical experience, and current NY State Dental Hygiene License. Current NY state certification in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide/oxygen sedation-preferred not required.
Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development to maintain a broad knowledge of evidence-based research in teaching. Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable with technology, and have experience with entering data into Electronic Health Records.
