    Overview

     

    The Lead Cleaner is responsible for giving direction, motivation, and guidance to a team of cleaners. The Sanitation Lead Cleaner is responsible for overseeing and performing sanitation activities within the distribution center. This role ensures compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements while providing guidance and support to the sanitation team. The Lead Cleaner acts as the primary point of contact for sanitation-related issues during their shift.

    Shift Available: Monday - Friday (Day Shift: 6am-3:30pm) OR (Night shift 3pm-12am)

    Payrate: $19.00 Hourly

     

    Requirements: Previous Janitorial leadership experience.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Must be 18 years of age or older

     

    Previous leadership or team lead experience

     

    Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures.

     

    Strong organizational and communication skills.

     

    Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Customer service experience

    • One (1) year of similar work experience

    Responsibilities:

    Lead and coordinate daily sanitation tasks for the cleaning team.

     

    Assign work areas and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.

     

    Perform routine and deep cleaning of floors, walls, restrooms, break rooms, and equipment.

     

    Operate and train team members on cleaning equipment (floor scrubbers, sweepers, pressure washers).

     

    Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and PPE.

     

    Maintain sanitation logs and verify accuracy of documentation.

     

    Inspect work areas for cleanliness and compliance with OSHA, FDA, and company standards.

     

    Communicate with supervisors regarding issues, supply needs, and maintenance concerns.

     

    Assist in onboarding and training new sanitation staff.

     

    Support special cleaning projects and shutdowns as needed.

     

    • Provide leadership and direction to team members

    • Relay communication between team members, client, customers and management

    • Report performance issues to the Supervisor

    • Assist with the training of cleaning team

    • Coordinate work assignments

    • Assist with making daily and weekly work schedules

    • Oversee and perform cleaning operations in assigned building

    • Manage security of keys and access cards for the property

    • Report work orders for maintenance

    • Makes sure premises are secured at all times

    • Work with Manager to schedule jobs with Property Manager and cleaning crew to complete the work

    • Oversees quality of jobs and confirms completion with Manager

    • Provide training to all new hires assigned to the building

    • Check supplies, equipment, and chemicals weekly

    • Complete order forms completely and accurately

    • Coordinate equipment usage and inventories

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly.

     

    Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.

     

    Comfortable working in varying temperatures (cold storage, ambient warehouse).

     

    Ability to climb ladders or use lifts for high-reach cleaning tasks.

     

    Manual dexterity to operate cleaning equipment and tools.

     

    Must be able to wear required PPE (gloves, goggles, masks, etc.).

     

    A good job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.
