    Job Summary

    Facilitate the grant process pre- and post-award for the university. Coordinate cross-departmentally to research, prepare, finalize, submit, and follow-up on industry, foundation, and/or government grants. Research and draft proposals, develop budgets, and manage the submission process ensuring deadlines are met. Process grant reconciliations, maintain records, and communicate with funders. Establish relationships with foundations. Recognized as subject matter expert and advanced individual contributor professional. Requires specialized skill set. Conduct highly complex work, unsupervised and with extensive latitude for independent judgment.

     

    Supports faculty and research teams in preparing, organizing, and submitting competitive grant applications and related research materials. Maintains up-to-date application templates, biosketches, and Other Support documents, ensuring compliance with institutional and sponsor guidelines. Collaborates with investigators and grant administrators to review RFAs, draft and edit proposal components, and coordinate Human Subjects and DSMP documentation. Additional responsibilities include assisting with RPPR submissions, managing pre- and post-award organization, supporting publication submissions and NIH reporting, and coordinating with IRB processes and CT.gov updates. This position plays a key role in streamlining grant preparation and enhancing the quality and success of research proposals. Applicants should be skilled in scientific grant and manuscript editing and formatting, publication compliance, and Human Subjects writing.

    Responsibilities

    + Expertise with the full range of proposals submitted by the department. Expertise with the full range of award administration activities, including award set-up, modification, and maintenance.

    + Ensures federal compliance by reviewing procedures/policies. Provides recommendations for updates in procedures/policies.

    + Subject Matter Expert in a variety of GCO activities, including but not limited to general feedback on industry contract review, content contribution, etc .

    + Makes substantive contributions to trainings, process development, and unit resources

    + Consistently works on highly complex problems requiring independent action and decision making. Must determine best course of action to resolve problems and frequently makes recommendations for improvement.

    + Knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field
