The Proviso Children's Advocacy Center (PCAC), via the Illinois Children's Advocacy Center Act, provides services to child victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, and/or violence and their non-offending caregivers and siblings.

Responsibilities

Conduct interviews with alleged child abuse victims working as a part of a multidisciplinary team including all outside agencies involved in the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases to avoid duplicative interviewing.

+ Conduct child-centered forensic interviews with children, according to a nationally accredited forensic interview model in accordance with protocol.

+ Consult with investigative multidisciplinary team members to share information that may be pertinent to the interview or subsequent investigation.

+ Assist in the development and implementation of training for the multidisciplinary team members.

+ Conduct training sessions with community professionals who require education about child abuse, forensic interviewing, and similar topics.

+ Testify in court hearings, trials, or depositions regarding forensic interviews that were conducted.

Requirements

Education:

+ Master's Level Degree required.

+ Completion of 40 hour nationally accredited forensic interview training required within 6 months of hire.
