    **Raytheon** is a world leader in high altitude imaging sensors. As such, we in the Advanced Product Solutions department provide the United States Government and International Partners with remote sensing systems, for time critical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations. Our ISR Information and Intelligence Engineering group develops algorithms and software for processing, optimizing, and creating intelligence products from these sensors.

     

    We are seeking a **Senior Electrical Design Engineer** specializing in digital and high-speed processing designs. You will be responsible for developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle that includes design, prototype, manufacture, integration, test, and transition to production.

     

    You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including engineering, program management, supply chain, and manufacturing. Successful candidates must adapt to rapidly changing circumstances, work under own initiative with minimal supervision/guidance, be calm under pressure, and responsive to change with a logical approach to technical problem resolution and decision making.     This 1st shift role will be 100% on-site and based in **Westford, MA.**

    What You Will Do

    + Design and develop electrical interfaces and hardware for electro-mechanical systems.

    + Create circuit architecture, perform modeling, simulation, and verification.

    + Develop, analyze, integrate, and test digital/analog circuits, including CCAs/PCBs with processors, FPGAs, power regulators, and industry-standard interfaces (e.g., PCIe, Ethernet, I2C).

    + Utilize rapid prototyping methods for concept development and risk reduction.

    + Support production by identifying alternative components for obsolescence issues.

    + Develop test methods and validate designs against requirements, including airworthiness qualifications.

    + Test and troubleshoot designs using industry-standard equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).

    + Integrate electrical designs with firmware and software at unit, subsystem, and system levels.

    + Collaborate with supply chain and cross-functional teams to meet design and performance needs.

    + Follow engineering processes to manage and implement design changes.

    Qualifications You Must Have

    + A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior work experience.

    + Experience with full PCB design process/lifecycle from concept and requirements development through design, verification, test, and production.

    + Experience with design simulation tools (e.g., HyperLynx, LTSpice), analytical tools (e.g., MATLAB), and design development tools (e.g., Siemens Xpedition for schematic capture and layout).

    + Proficient in Design Verification/Analysis – Timing/Power/Signal Integrity analysis, Component selection/analysis/de-rating, bench-level integration and testing, troubleshooting, and test results analysis.

    + U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

    Qualifications We Prefer

    + Understanding of IPC Standards for PCB Design and Fabrication and IEEE, MIL Electrical standards.

    + Experience with analog and mixed-signal circuits, and complex circuit card assemblies of 16+ layers.

    + Design Lead/Leadership experience (technical and/or team).

    + Experience with Programmable Logic Design for FPGA/CPLD using VHDL / Verilog.

    + Experience with scripting languages such as Python or TCL for tool/test automation and “C” coding for configuration and test of embedded controllers.

    The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

     

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
