Description:
We are hiring a dynamic Milieu Supervisor - 3rd shift for the Aspen House in Mendota Heights, MN! This role ensures high-quality care for youth and families through effective staff leadership, program coordination, and service delivery.
The Aspen House is a community-based facility for teens in Dakota and Washington counties who temporarily need a safe place to live. Youth in our care have private bedrooms and access to mental health and educational services during their stay and is staffed 24/7. We serve displaced youth ages 11-18 and pride ourselves on being a restraint-free facility. Aspen House not only provides temporary housing but also incorporates mental health assessments and services, recreational activities, educational instruction, coordination with outside supports, stabilization services, and on-going connections with family support systems.

Schedule, Location & Pay:
• Full time, 40 hours per week
• Monday-Friday 11pm-7:30am
• On call as needed
• $50,000 per year salary, exempt
• Onsite in Mendota Heights, MN

Position Summary: The Milieu Supervisor is responsible to provide trauma-informed milieu leadership and mentorship in the treatment guidance plans through effective communication, organization, and planning of the daily operations of the program and assigned unit.
Primary responsibilities:
Trauma-Informed Program Support
• Develop staff schedules to maintain safe and effective client care.
• Coordinate daily activities including transportation, family visits, and special events.
• Support staff in maintaining calm, therapeutic interactions with clients.
• Assist in creating and implementing individualized client guidance plans.
Documentation & Treatment Planning
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of client and staff activities.
• Help improve program procedures for efficient and safe service delivery.
• Identify and resolve program challenges; support long-term improvements.
• Collaborate with clinical teams on treatment plans and interventions.
Admissions & Client Services
• Welcome new clients and families, ensuring all initial needs are met.
• Monitor service delivery and promote family involvement.
• Track and manage youth needs (e.g., clothing, dietary, appointments).
• Assign primary staff to youth for advocacy and communication.
• Participate in hiring and onboarding of trauma-informed staff.
Staff Supervision & Leadership
• Mentor new staff and oversee training and shadowing.
• Provide coverage during staff absences or emergencies.
• Coach staff in trauma-informed care and intervention strategies.
• Manage timecards and conduct performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with HR and leadership on staff development and discipline.
Policy & Compliance
• Model and promote Nexus values and treatment approaches.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy policies.
• Conduct safety inspections and address concerns promptly.
• Stay current on company policies, training, and certifications.
Requirements:
Required Education and Licensure:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a related industry.
• Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience required.
• Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a clinically related field preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with clients and families preferred.
