Job Summary
The College of Pharmacy (Veterinary Medicine) is seeking a Staff Pharmacist. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE ), 12-month, professional faculty position.
The Staff Pharmacist is supervised by and works closely with the Director of Veterinary Teaching Hospital ( VTH ) Pharmacy to provide pharmaceutical care, filling and dispensing prescriptions to patients, and other daily pharmacy tasks, as required, in the operation of the VTH pharmacy. This position participates in the college’s educational programs in his/her area of expertise, specifically, with P4 pharmacy rotation students by serving as an instructor to the College of Pharmacy for Pharmacy Practice 795 series course, and participates in clinical instruction in the College of Veterinary Medicine. This position will also require the staff pharmacist to be on-call for pharmacy services during nonbusiness hours, specifically, to provide the VTH emergency care and/or hospital necessities, when appropriate.

What You Will Need
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy, or Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D.)
+ Eligibility for licensure as a pharmacist in Oregon
+ CPR certified
+ Eligible to be licensed as a preceptor
+ Excellent communication skills
+ Commitment to contributing to an inclusive, and equitable community.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
What We Would Like You to Have
+ One year or more of experience in veterinary pharmacy hospital practice
+ Demonstrated knowledge of veterinary or pharmacy compounding experience
+ Experience using VetHosp software
+ Experience with automated-dispensing-cabinets (i.e. Cubex)
+ Completed a pharmacy residency program (PGY1)
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
This position will require the staff pharmacist to be on-call for pharmacy services during nonbusiness hours, specifically, to provide the VTH emergency care and/or hospital necessities, when appropriate. Work will take place in a pharmacy and patient-care setting. Incumbent will be required to lift 50-75 lbs of materials/inventory as needed.
