    The Role

     

    Lumen is seeking a strategic, execution-oriented leader to drive growth in the hyperscaler and data center segment, accelerating how we embed Lumen’s digital solutions into the ecosystem where cloud, edge, and AI workloads are rapidly converging.

     

    The Senior Director will define the segment strategy and lead cross-functional execution to position Lumen as a preferred connectivity and edge partner for hyperscalers, cloud marketplaces, and data center providers. This role will focus on creating differentiated solution offerings, aligning Lumen’s platform capabilities with partner strategies, and driving measurable revenue growth through deeper ecosystem integration.

     

    This position reports into the SVP of Product, and will work closely with product, engineering, sales, marketing, and partner organizations across Lumen to deliver on our mission to be the trusted network provider for enterprises and AI networking.

    This is a remote opportunity open to candidates located anywhere in the U.S.

    The Main Responsibilities

    + Segment Strategy & Growth: Define and lead the go-to-market and growth strategy for Lumen’s hyperscaler and data center segment, with clear revenue and market share objectives.

    + Ecosystem Integration: Drive alignment with hyperscaler and data center partner strategies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle), embedding Lumen solutions into their marketplaces and network ecosystems.

    + AI & Workload Enablement: Identify and execute opportunities for Lumen to serve as the on-ramp for AI and high-performance workloads, leveraging our fiber, edge compute, and interconnection capabilities.

    + Solution Development: Work with Product and Engineering to define jointly developed and co-sellable solutions, including edge connectivity, data center interconnect, private cloud, and multi-cloud connectivity.

    + Execution & Prioritization: Translate segment strategy into actionable roadmaps and measurable outcomes. Lead alignment across product, sales, and operations to accelerate execution and remove friction.

    + Market & Partner Insight: Build and maintain deep understanding of hyperscaler and data center trends, customer use cases, and ecosystem evolution — informing investment priorities and product innovation.

    + Internal Collaboration: Partner with Lumen’s Product Excellence, GTM, and Sales teams to ensure segment requirements are reflected in the roadmap, pricing, enablement, and marketing motions.

    + Performance Management: Define KPIs for segment success — revenue growth, attach rate, partner contribution, and customer satisfaction — and drive a disciplined cadence of execution and accountability.

    + Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with hyperscaler partner teams, strategic customers, and internal executive stakeholders to advance shared initiatives and accelerate adoption.

    What We Look For in a Candidate

    + 12+ years of experience in leadership, partner strategy, or product management within technology, cloud infrastructure, or network services.

    + Deep understanding of hyperscaler ecosystems, data center interconnection, and emerging AI workload trends.

    + Proven ability to define strategy and lead cross-functional teams from concept through delivery.

    + Demonstrated success in driving measurable revenue or market growth in complex, multi-partner environments.

    + Strong business and technical acumen, with the ability to translate platform capabilities into customer and partner value.

    + Exceptional communication and executive engagement skills — able to influence internally and externally across C-level stakeholders.

    + Collaborative and results-oriented leadership style; capable of balancing strategic vision with operational execution.

    Compensation

    This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

     

    Location Based Pay Ranges

     

    $171,447 - $228,596 in these states: AL AR AZ FL GA IA ID IN KS KY LA ME MO MS MT ND NE NM OH OK PA SC SD TN UT VT WI WV WY

     

    $180,020 - $240,026 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI

    $188,592 - $251,456 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
