    Description

    The Department of Cell Biology & Genetics (CBGN) in the Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine at Texas A&M University seeks to fill one (1) Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position for a full-time, 11-month appointment with an anticipated start date in the Summer of 2026. Applications will be accepted at the rank of Assistant Professor, commensurate with qualifications.

     

    Candidates pursuing internationally recognized research in molecular imaging, metabolic diseases, cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, regenerative medicine, or AI-driven health research are encouraged to apply. The use of multidisciplinary approaches and research topics that complement those of existing research groups is an asset.

     

    The chosen candidate is expected to develop an innovative and competitive research program at the national and international levels and to secure external funding to support their research. Duties also include teaching fundamental biomedical science courses at the Master’s and Doctoral levels, supervision of graduate students, and participation in departmental and college-level committee activities.

     

    Together, Texas A&M University, Texas A&M Health, and the Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine are working to improve healthcare through transformative education, innovative research, and team-based care delivery.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    + Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field

    + Postdoctoral experience

    Preferred:

    + A demonstrated ability to successfully obtain competitive research funding will be advantageous.
