GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC) is an organization with a rich history and a bright future. As a leader in the energy industry, we look to our employees to help us grow, change, and provide power to over 500,000 members of our 17 electric distribution cooperatives. An Engineering Intern assists in various areas of AECC transmission system, Real-Time Power Market Operations Center, AECC Generation Operation Center in the TOC department. We’re looking for someone who can maintain a high degree of situational awareness to meet continually changing conditions with a fresh and adaptable approach. In this position, you will be given the opportunity to work alongside peers who are versatile, enthusiastic, and strive to push forward AECC’s mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Assist with a variety of projects related to power production, power delivery operations, and/or transmission facilities.
+ Utilize computer-based systems to analyze, model, and assemble related data to support the needs of our members.
+ Review and organize documents to conform to division records management standards.
+ Assist TOC staff in the performance of their duties.
+ Accumulates and analyzes transmission system operating data for evidence and reporting purposes.
+ Technologically adept and advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.
+ Exceptional analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
+ Extremely detailed and accuracy oriented
+ Self-starter and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
+ Able to work well in somewhat challenging weather conditions to support plant testing activities.
+ Maintain awareness of and compliance with applicable laws and regulations from various regulatory entities, internal policies, procedures, and directives. Ensure ongoing monitoring and timely incorporation of any changes to maintain adherence to compliance standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Pursuing a STEM degree from an program that is accredited college.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
+ Valid state driver’s license
