**Summary** -
The-Purchasing intern-will-participate-in the request for quote process per Saint-Gobain policies,-utilizing-procurement-eTools-and collaborating with the Category Managers,-Purchasing-Agents-and stakeholders across functions in the business. The-intern-will also research the market to support the development of the right sourcing strategy based on the-organization-need and the market indicators. The analyst will summarize bids and present bid summaries in meaningful formats to present total-cost-which will help the decision process.-The Purchasing intern will support-data validation-activities, with a focus on-raw material-purchasing information records:-suppliers,-incoterms, country-of-origin, tariffs, etc.-
**Essential Functions** -
+ Support sourcing initiatives-and market research-for assigned raw material categories-
+ Research potential new suppliers for Saint-Gobain-
+ Develop and process requests for proposal using Saint-Gobain-eTools-
+ Analyze and present bid results to support decisions; synthesize data to coincide with requirements/needs of the stakeholders-
+ Coordinate with suppliers in support of sustainability initiatives, e.g. suppliers' CO2 emissions factors and sustainability questionnaires.-
+ Support data validation activities-
+ Support reporting tool development,-e.g.-Power BI--
**Qualifications** -
+ Applicant must be pursuing-a college-degree-in business, procurement, or related field.--
+ Basic understanding-Purchasing/Procurement function-
+ Strong communication-skills, both written and verbal-
+ Excellent command of English, both written and verbal-
+ Good interpersonal skills-
+ Team oriented-
+ Results focused-
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously-
+ Flexible, but organized-
