Description
Amazon seeks a Senior Program Manager to drive strategic initiatives and program launches within Amazon's Grocery Management Technology Systems Engineering Team. This role will be a key member of mission-critical projects that leverage technology to improve customer experiences while scaling operations for rapidly increasing volume and complexity across Amazon's grocery business.
The successful candidate will support process development and optimization of grocery operations including forecasting, scheduling, capacity management, and supply chain coordination. You will own and drive large cross-functional projects across the grocery management technology space, working in an entrepreneurial environment where teams experiment, fail fast, learn, and scale rapidly.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead collection of business and systems requirements from internal and external customers.
- Drive project schedules from design to production release.
- Manage complex program launches across multiple engineering teams and stakeholders.
- Coordinate design and implementation efforts with engineers and highly-engaged users.
- Develop optimal solutions in an agile environment while making appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market.
- Clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to cross-functional and remote project teams.
- Support grocery delivery operations, special programs, and partner integrations.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (agile to waterfall)
- Experience delivering complex programs on time and within budget.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- project management certification such as PMP, Scrum, or other Agile certification
- Experience working with data and leveraging analytics to make decisions
- Knowledge of process improvement, ideally including Lean, Kaizen and Six Sigma
- Experience influencing at all levels within an organization, particularly at the executive level
- 7+ years of program management experience in consumer-facing operations.
- Experience in e-commerce, retail, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Experience managing programs with budgets >$1M and cross-functional teams of 20+ people.
- Experience with process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Experience driving operational efficiency and cost optimization.
- Experience with vendor management and third-party partnerships.
- Experience with change management and organizational transformation.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
