    Position Description:

    This role is within a 558-bed acute care hospital serving the local community. The hospital provides comprehensive services including emergency care, cardiovascular care, neurosciences, robotic surgery, orthopedic and spine care, bariatrics, behavioral health, and obstetrics. It is a Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center, certified Ventricular Assist Device program, and an American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer accredited Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. The hospital also has off-site ERs providing emergency care for adults and children. Employees work in a fast-paced clinical environment while enjoying the amenities of Palm Beach County.

    Job Summary:

    The Occupational Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by managing the full process of occupational therapy for assigned patients in coordination with physicians and the care team. Responsibilities include patient assessments, development and implementation of individualized care plans, patient engagement, and support throughout home health and the continuum of care.

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Provide evaluations and treatment interventions within scope of practice and professional standards

    + Assess and evaluate therapeutic, rehabilitative, and functional status

    + Participate in patient placement and development of the total plan of care

    + Deliver purposeful, skilled interaction care using procedures and techniques to produce functional improvement

    + Observe and report patient reactions to treatment and changes in condition

    + Communicate pertinent payor needs and requirements to the care team, patient, and family

    + Prioritize caseload, determine daily staffing needs, and coordinate assignments and handoffs

    Job Qualifications:

    + Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of start date

    + Registered Occupational Therapist (ROT) license

    + Bachelor’s Degree

    + Open to new graduates; prior experience preferred but not required
