    The Division of Youth Safety and Permanency has the following opening for Psychosocial Rehab Specialist on the Foster Care Licensing Team located in Twin Falls .

     

    This position will carry a workload of families licensed to provide foster care and may also provide direction and guidance to Social Worker staff. They deliver and provide direct services to foster families and monitor a foster family's achievements of outcomes for safety, permanency and well-being. They also utilize an array of community resources to resolve issues and participate in interdisciplinary team staffing to support foster families and the children in their care.

     

    This position may be eligible for limited telework after successful completion of probation and necessary training. Approval to telecommute is not guaranteed and subject to termination at any time.

     

    The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace.     EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

    + Carry a workload of complex and difficult foster care licenses.

    + Incumbent will also provide direct services to foster families. .

    + Conduct home visits to assess safety and suitability of family home.

    + Write comprehensive home study assessment in accordance with state/federal regulations.

    + Recommend approval or denial of foster home licensure.

    + Maintain up to date case records and documentation of each foster home.

    + Conduct annual relicense.

    + Investigate complaints or licensing violations.

    + Offer ongoing support for licensed foster homes in receiving annual training.

    + Address placement challenges and conflicts.

    + Promote retention with supportive and engaging connection and communication with foster families.

    + Prepare appropriate home studies for permanency selections.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position.     + Good knowledge of human services principles and practices including behavioral management methods, social and family systems, cognitive behavioral education and case management methods. Typically gained by a certification as a psychosocial rehabilitation specialist in accordance with USPRA requirements OR bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, behavioral science, special education, psychosocial rehabilitation, healthcare, criminal justice or related field from a nationally accredited university or college OR 2-4 upper division courses as stated above AND 2-4 years’ work experience OR experience that represents the knowledge level above.

    + Computer literacy for data entry, electronic mail, composing reports and letters, and storing and retrieving documents.
