    State of Idaho - Department of Administration Opportunity

    Are you looking for an opportunity to serve to the great state of Idaho in a role where you provide service to and reach the lives of all state employees? The Office of Group Insurance, within the Department of Administration, has an immediate opening for an Employee Benefits Specialist. This position processes high-volume, detail orientated transactions ensuring insurance premiums and adjustments are accurate and timely and plays a key role in meeting the needs of state employees, their families and state agencies.

     

    The ideal candidate will have experience administering an employer's benefit program; possess strong problem-solving skills; and the ability to process a large volume of detail-oriented transactions with a high degree of accuracy.

    Examples of Duties:

    + Provide guidance as the primary point of contact for state employees, state human resource and payroll staff and insurance carriers regarding active employee medical and dental plan premiums and related Office of Group Insurance policies and procedures.

    + Collect, reconcile and remit employee medical and dental plan premiums in adherence with strict deadlines.

    + Process medical and dental plan premium discrepancy reports and payroll adjustments.

    + Research and resolve complex benefit issues.

    + Manage sophisticated Excel spreadsheets and record systems.

    + Consistently process a high number of detail-oriented transactions with a high degree of accuracy.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Good knowledge of group medical, dental, life and disability insurance;

    + Experience compiling data and preparing reports.

    Specialty Minimum Qualifications:

    + Experience performing mathematical calculations and maintaining complex spreadsheets;

    + Experience performing payroll deductions and/or premium payments for a group benefits program.

    + Desirable Qualification (not required, however having this experience may increase your overall ranking):

    + Experience with Luma

     

    Supplemental Information: Please note: The successful candidate will be required to pass a fingerprint-based background check.

     

    This position will also interact with a diverse customer base and must be able to interact in a non-partisan manner when working in political environments.
