Job Description:Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking qualified candidates for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to assist with Epilepsy Research.
Duties include:
+ Conducting a range of in vivo and in vitro experiments.
+ Immunoprecipitation.
+ Viral vectors studies, including vector design and cloning.
+ RNA sequencing.
+ Proteomics/transcriptomics and bioinformatics.
+ PLA.
+ Immunohistochemistry on brain sections.
+ Surgery to implant electrodes and EEG acquisition and analysis.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience in neuronscience (neurodegeneration).
+ Proven track record and publications.
+ Degree related to the medical or Veterinary field
Department/Program & College Description:
Our research goal is to investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of disease modification in experimental models of epilepsy and organophosphate-induced long-term Neurotoxicity. Our ongoing research demonstrated that targeting seizure-induced neuroinflammation prevents long-term neurodegeneration and modifies the development of epilepsy/disease progression
