Description

We are looking for a dedicated Patient Access Specialist to join a large healthcare organization in North Vernon, Indiana. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients entering the hospital, ensuring their registration process is handled accurately and compassionately. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by addressing patient concerns and providing excellent service in a fast-paced environment.

Hours: M-F, 7am - 3:30pm + rotating weekends and holidays

Responsibilities:

• Welcome patients upon arrival and assist them with the registration process, ensuring all required information is collected accurately.

• Address patient inquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism to create a positive experience.

• Work efficiently to gather insurance details and verify health plan coverage in real-time.

• Build rapport with patients by asking follow-up questions and actively listening to their needs.

• Maintain knowledge of various health plans and coverage options to provide accurate information.

• Navigate a dynamic environment, adapting to unexpected situations while remaining focused on patient care.

• Collaborate with a supportive team to ensure smooth registration processes and exceptional service.

• Uphold hospital policies and procedures, maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance.

• Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and stay updated on healthcare registration practices.

• Operate in a fast-paced setting, often standing and moving to assist patients promptly.

Requirements

•High School Diploma

•Proven experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare or similar setting.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and empathetically.

• Familiarity with patient registration processes and health insurance policies.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

• Proficiency in typing and data entry to ensure accurate recordkeeping.

• Capability to adapt to changing situations and solve problems effectively.

• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations.

• Willingness to undergo required drug testing and vaccinations as part of the onboarding process.
