Description
We are looking for a skilled Collector to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts on a contract basis. This is an onsite role, No remote. No Hybrid Option available. This role involves managing consumer collections, negotiating payment arrangements, and providing solutions tailored to individual circumstances. The ideal candidate will bring experience in banking or credit union environments, although candidates with consumer collections expertise outside of banking may also be considered.
Responsibilities:
• Negotiate payment plans and offer options such as loan modifications or hardship programs to assist members.
• Accurately document all collection activities within the bank's systems.
• Monitor payment commitments and ensure timely follow-ups.
• Evaluate accounts and recommend further action, such as repossession, legal proceedings, or charge-offs.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address member concerns and ensure adherence to policies.
• Stay informed about federal and state regulations governing collections.
• Deliver exceptional service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Utilize software systems effectively to manage collection processes and member accounts.
• Ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide insights and advice to improve collection strategies and member solutions.
Requirements • Previous experience in consumer collections, ideally within banking or credit union environments.
• Proficiency with collection software such as Carmpro, Fiserv, or similar systems.
• Familiarity with repossession processes and related procedures.
• Strong knowledge of credit analysis and commercial credit applications.
• Ability to navigate complex member situations with empathy and professionalism.
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws related to collections.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to resolve member issues effectively.
