About Woodland Job Corps Center
The Woodland Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), along with hands-on training in:
+ Electrical Wiring
+ Carpentry
+ Building Construction Technology
+ Culinary Arts
+ Advanced Training – Culinary Arts and Hotel & Lodging
We also assist students with job placement upon completion of their educational and career technical training.

Position Summary: Recreation Staff
Responsible for working with the Recreation team to provide students with a comprehensive and diverse recreation program. Promotes health and wellness through overseeing the recreation activities as outlined on the approved recreation schedule.

+ Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Key Responsibilities
+ Follow all integrity guidelines and procedures; ensure no manipulation of student data.
+ Assist with the supervision of a comprehensive and diverse recreation program.
+ Coordinate recreation activities with CPP and Social Development, including evening programming.
+ Coordinate recreation and leadership activities/programs with Center and local community resources.
+ Ensure safe practices and program compliance within prescribed safety guidelines.
+ Document student participation and accountability during recreation activities.
+ Maintain inventory of equipment and materials, control use, recommend purchases, and perform repairs.
+ Oversee appearance, condition, and organization of the recreation department facilities.
+ May oversee student recreation aide program.
+ Produce quality work in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner.
+ Maintain personal attendance, accountability, and work productivity standards.
+ Plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
+ Understand and apply job knowledge to effectively complete all responsibilities; maintain required skills.
+ Mentor, monitor, and model the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.
+ Provide high-quality supervision and management for the student population; positively influence student behavior.
+ Provide timely operational support for Center operations to ensure quality programs and services.
+ Exchange ideas and information clearly, contributing meaningfully to group efforts.
+ Effectively articulate thoughts and ideas; identify problems, analyze causes, evaluate solutions, and follow up to ensure issues are resolved.
+ Work in partnership with staff from all departments to ensure effective supervision and services.
+ Accept direction from Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager, including temporary assignments in other departments.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Education
+ High School Diploma required (or equivalent GED)
+ Preferred: Minimum of 1 year experience working in a youth-focused setting
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
+ Ability to mentor, motivate, and positively influence young people
+ Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
