Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of accounting functions within a dynamic and detail-focused environment. This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong numerical skills and a passion for accuracy and organization.

Responsibilities:

• Handle accounts receivable tasks such as processing lien waivers, imaging documents, investigating discrepancies, and entering data.

• Scan and reconcile packing slips with corresponding invoices and purchase orders.

• Prepare and execute monthly payments to vendors in a timely manner.

• Input and monitor purchase orders and subcontractor agreements with accuracy.

• Review and validate monthly expense reports to ensure compliance and correctness.

• Support accounts receivable in job setup, billing processes, and collections activities.

• Create and maintain comprehensive spreadsheets to assist various departments.

• Organize and manage both physical and digital records to ensure accessibility and accuracy.

• Perform additional accounting duties and contribute to special projects as needed. Requirements • Previous experience in Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable functions.

• Strong numerical aptitude and excellent attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks.

• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.

• Educational background in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent work experience.

• Comfortable with data entry tasks, including numeric data handling.
