    Description

    Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant/ Consultant on a contract basis to review and analyze missed meal penalties within their payroll process. This role is immediately open, directly with the decision maker, and can be promptly filled. This role is Hybrid or possible remote if consultant has prior needed payroll experience.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Review payroll records to identify and ensure correct calculation of missed meal penalties.

    • Audit and reconcile timesheets to confirm accurate application of meal penalty rules in accordance with company policy and state labor laws.

    • Work with the controller and operations to resolve discrepancies related to meal and rest period violations.

    • Assist with generating payroll reports highlighting penalty payments and compliance issues.

    • Support process improvements to reduce future non-compliance and missed meal penalties.

     

    -Communicate findings and recommendations to management and suggest remediation strategies

     

    -Paychex, Cbiz ( big plus but mot required), Excel systems experience

    Requirements

    • Proven experience managing full-cycle payroll processes.

    • Expertise in handling multi-state payroll systems.

    • Familiarity with payroll operations for organizations with over 200+ employees.

    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in reviewing payroll records.

    • Knowledge of state labor laws related to meal and rest periods.

    • Proficiency in payroll software and reporting tools.

    • Effective communication skills for collaboration and presenting findings to stakeholders.
