    Job Title: Waterjet Operator** **Job Description

     

    The Waterjet Operator is responsible for effectively and efficiently operating a high-pressure water jet to process and produce high-quality products, ensuring optimal customer satisfaction throughout the company.

    Responsibilities

    + Load and unload materials and parts, prove programs, operate controls, set offsets, deburr, and inspect quality parts for conformance to requirements on a water jet.

    + Study and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

    + Ensure production rates are met or exceeded.

    + Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust the machine, within capabilities, controls, or control media as required to ensure the quality of productions. Report all machine malfunctions.

    + Communicate with management, production control, quality, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.

    + Maintain equipment and work area cleanliness and perform basic preventative maintenance functions.

    + Suggest and implement improvements.

    + Communicate all production-related items to the next shift Waterjet Operator or shift supervisors.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    + Conform to the company’s culture of quality, service, and continuous improvement while taking personal responsibility for actions and treating fellow employees, customers, and vendors respectfully and ethically.

    + Provide management with reports as needed.

    + Adhere to safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.

    + Follow company policies and procedures.

    Essential Skills

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + One or more years of experience in production/equipment operation.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    + Good organizational and problem-solving skills.

    + Ability to analyze, track, and maintain accountabilities.

    + Ability to effectively multi-task.

    + Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers.

    + Strong work ethic and self-motivation.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Three or more years of experience in production/equipment operation.

    + One or more years of experience working in the metals industry.

    Work Environment

    The position is set in a manufacturing environment that is not climate-controlled. Employees are exposed to hazardous machinery, sharp tools, proximity to moving objects, noise, heat, and humidity. The role requires frequent visual and auditory attention, as well as continuous use of a computer to receive and give information. Physical demands include sitting, standing, using hands or fingers, kneeling, crawling, twisting, balancing, bending, climbing, speaking, and clear vision at 36 inches or less. Employees must be able to lift or push/pull up to 50 pounds with assistance or a lifting device.

    The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $45760.00/yr.
