    Job Title: Generator Field Service Technician** **Job Description

     

    The primary responsibility of this position is to perform repairs and services on various makes and models of generators, with a focus on Blue Star Power Systems. The Field Service Technician will travel within the region to meet customers at healthcare, commercial, industrial, and agricultural sites. We seek someone with excellent communication and customer service skills who is eager to learn.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving with AC/DC electrical systems.

    + Install, troubleshoot, and repair generators, automatic transfer switches, and related products in the field.

    + Learn to use electrical wiring diagrams and schematics for troubleshooting and repairs.

    + Troubleshoot engine and generator issues for diesel, natural gas, and propane systems, providing solutions to customers.

    + Perform scheduled annual inspections and full services on all makes, models, and sizes of generator systems, including load banking, lube services, fueling, and cooling system maintenance.

    + Travel outside the local area to provide services to all customers.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.

    + Experience in field service and power generation.

    + Strong communication skills.

    + Capability to complete repairs after proper troubleshooting.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Proficiency with computer programs, including email, Word, and PDF.

    + Experience with hand tools and power tools.

    + Organizational skills for timely service representation.

    + Associate degree or equivalent in a related field.

    + Previous experience in diesel, power generation, or a related area.

    + Clean driving record.

    + Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.

    + Willingness to travel.
