    Job Title: Production Supervisor** **Job Description

     

    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Supervisor to lead and manage production lines within an automotive setting. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient production processes while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

    Responsibilities

    + Supervise, lead, coach, and direct team leaders and laborers to achieve production volume, cost, quality, and schedule targets.

    + Manage departmental performance measures and provide regular progress reports.

    + Plan and manage headcount for absences, holidays, training, and workshops.

    + Complete daily Attendance Register and ADP data entry tasks.

    + Conduct standardized work audits and ensure adherence to Standardized Work within the team.

    + Collaborate with Team Leaders to schedule operator rotations.

    + Liaise with support functions to resolve build issues and prevent recurrence.

    + Oversee re-work when necessary and manage the closure of line QRCIs.

    + Coach team leaders to independently resolve issues and ensure team compliance with 7 Quality Basics.

    + Maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.

    + Encourage continuous improvement, promoting a safe work environment.

    + Conduct disciplinary, return-to-work, and performance evaluation interviews.

    + Validate and set weekly operator polyvalence targets.

    + Assist with additional tasks as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong supervisory and leadership skills in a production environment.

    + Experience in automotive production and union environments.

    + Knowledge of production management, safety standards, and continuous improvement.

    + Familiarity with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, and process improvement.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with UAW and unionized environments.

    + Ability to manage and report on departmental performance measures.

    + Skills in planning and managing workforce scheduling.

    + Strong communication and liaison skills with support functions.

    Work Environment

    Our facility is a 340,000 square foot plant built in 2012, maintaining a clean and updated environment. The plant employs approximately 1,000 staff across three shifts, and is associated with UAW local 600. The fast-paced environment requires teamwork and the ability to work independently. The production schedule operates on a semi-just-in-time basis with a 1.5-day lead time.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, MI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.

    Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job

    classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
