ADVERTISING TITLE: ASSISTANT CHIEF OF DENTAL SERVICES
This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at reports to Central Office in Tallahassee, FL, in the Health Service Administration.
The mission of the Health Service Administration at the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to oversee and ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to the inmate population
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
+ Conducts institutional site visits to monitor the delivery of Dental Care provided by the outsourced Dental Partner(s) by reviewing Clinical Dental Records.
+ Conducts patient assessments to determine if appropriate Dental Standards are being met, including Performance Measures, Access to Care and Clinical Competency, when necessary.
+ Prepares reports from Dental Monitoring Activities.
+ Provides Clinical Dental Consultation to Regional Health Services Staff as needed.
+ Assists the Chief of Dental Services as needed in overseeing the provision of Dental Care by the Outsourced Dental Partner(s).

REQUIREMENTS:

+ Must possess a Doctorate degree from an accredited University.
+ Must possess an active unrestricted Florida Dental License in accordance with FS 466 and FAC 64B5.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
