Summary You will serve as a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC LEADER (VERY LOW FREQUENCY TRANSMITTER) in the COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT of NRS T JIM CREEK. Responsibilities You will assign work to subordinates. You will assign and direct work on the VLF transmitter as well as other electronic equipment. You will perform assigned duties as Department 3M Coordinator, making out maintenance schedules, completing force revisions, sending feedback reports, etc. You will work along with subordinates, setting the pace and demonstrating proper work methods. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE Ability to assign and direct work to subordinates in accordance with established maintenance schedules, test criteria, equipment history, 3M (Material, Maintenance, Management System) program, and as directed by management. Ability to schedule work assignments to subordinate employees in accordance with established leave schedules, maintenance schedules, test criteria, equipment history, operation schedules and operational analysis. Ability to work with subordinates, setting the pace and demonstrating proper work methods. Ability to explain and instruct on steps and procedures while ensuring that subordinates fully understand and properly perform such functions. Ability to ensure that subordinates are properly trained and that refresher training is provided as required. Ability to keep the Electronics Mechanic Supervisor informed on the status of work in progress, operation and maintenance problems, material and parts requirements, hazardous maintenance or operating conditions and similar items. Ability to oversee the Message Center Operation, ensuring the correct processing of message traffic, filing of messages, etc. Ability to temporarily assume Electronics Mechanic Supervisor duties and responsibilities when required due to absence.
