    Northwestern State University's College of Nursing and School of Allied Health (CONSAH) invites applications for the position of Director of Research and Scholarship, a full-time, 12-month tenure-track faculty appointment available on the Shreveport campus beginning January 5, 2026.

     

    The Director of Research & Scholarship provides academic leadership and support for research, scholarly activity, evidence-based practice, and inquiry across all CONSAH programs. The Director works collaboratively with faculty, program directors, students, clinical partners, and university research offices to promote a culture of inquiry, strengthen scholarly productivity, and enhance the visibility and impact of research within nursing and allied health. The position also supports faculty and student development in research methods, scholarly dissemination, and research-related regulatory compliance.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Doctoral degree in nursing, allied health, or a closely related field.

    + Demonstrated experience in research design, scholarly activity, or evidence-based practice appropriate to nursing or allied health disciplines.

    + Proficiency with quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods research methodologies.

    + Experience using statistical or analytic software.

    + College-level teaching experience.

    + Strong analytical, written, mentorship, and interpersonal communication skills.

    + Ability to work collaboratively across diverse nursing and allied health programs.

    + Commitment to promoting a culture of research, inquiry, and scholarly excellence across CONSAH.

     

    Job Duties and Other Information

     

    •Provide leadership for research, scholarship, and inquiry activities across all CONSAH programs.

    •Mentor faculty and students at all levels in research design, methodology, data analysis, statistics, scholarly writing, and dissemination.

    •Support the development of student scholarly activity, including research projects, evidence-based practice initiatives, posters, presentations, and publications.

    •Serve as a resource for all student scholarly projects, including capstones, research projects, evidence-based practice projects, honors projects, and theses.

    •Provide consultation in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research, including use of statistical and analytic software.

    •Support faculty and student IRB submissions and ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal research regulations.

    •Facilitate professional development activities related to research, scholarship, inquiry, and evidence-based practice {e.g., workshops, writing groups, research symposia).

    •Promote interdisciplinary and interprofessional research collaborations internally and with external partners.

    •Strengthen partnerships with clinical agencies, community partners, and academic units to support collaborative research and quality-improvement initiatives.

    •Maintain records of faculty and student scholarly productivity to support annual reports, accreditation documentation, and strategic planning.

    •Coordinate or support CONSAH research events {e.g., research days, student poster presentations, or faculty scholarship showcases).

    •Serve on college and university committees related to research, scholarship, or IRB processes.

    •Teach in area{s) of academic expertise in accordance with faculty workload expectations.

    •Engage in ongoing scholarship consistent with expectations for tenure-track faculty.

    •Foster a collaborative, supportive environment that advances CONSAH's research and scholarly mission.
