Tool Shop Attendant - Aviation
**Location:** Mobile, AL
Job Summary
The Tool Shop Attendant is responsible for managing the tool crib, which stores tools and small jigs used in production. This role ensures tools are properly maintained, tracked, and inspected for wear and tear. Key responsibilities include inventory control, tool inspection, and supporting calibration activities under QA guidance.
Key Responsibilities
Tool Shop Functions:
+ Receive, store, and issue tools and chemicals used in production; maintain accurate records of equipment movement.
+ Inspect tools and equipment for defects and wear; coordinate maintenance as needed.
+ Mark and identify tools and equipment.
+ Support calibration activities under QA guidance.
Operational Procurement Functions:
+ Coordinate with local suppliers to validate material order receipt, availability, and due dates.
+ Create SAP master data and purchase requests.
+ Work with strategic procurement on material consumption, batch order quantities, and order cycles.
+ Perform goods receipt and inventory adjustments.
+ Assist with audit preparation and participate in audit processes.
Shop Floor Control Functions:
+ Clean aircraft clip tools using methods such as media blasting.
+ Perform daily consumable cart kitting and station delivery.
+ Participate in daily production meetings.
Required Qualifications
+ Experience in logistics or tool management within a manufacturing environment.
+ Inventory management experience.
+ General knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and cutting tools used in aviation.
+ Familiarity with shop safety practices (FOD prevention, “clean as you go”) and OSHA regulations.
+ Proficiency with data collection programs (SAP and Excel).
Education:
+ High School Diploma or GED required.
