    Major/Essential Functions:

    + Demonstrate the mental, emotional, and physical ability to work with pregnant mothers and children birth to 3 years and families from various socio-economic groups. Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with children with disabilities.

    + Provide for safety and supervision of children according to HHS, NAEYC, HSPPS. Familiarity with and willingness to abide by the Texas Family Code §261.101.

    + Collaborate as part of the center Leadership team in developing and editing the policies and procedures, written plans, handbooks, training plan, and other relevant documents regarding day-to-day operations of the center.

    + Help plan, attend, and participate in regular leadership meetings, center staff meetings, staff training, and all family engagement events.

    + Prepare data and reports for meetings of leadership, staff, Governing Board and Policy Council; report data to all stakeholders.

    + Responsible for the oversight of education and disability services at the center to ensure compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) are met and to carry out the initiatives of the Texas Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

    + Responsible for the oversight of disability services at the center to ensure compliance with HSPPS, NAEYC, and HHS. Monitor all Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) to ensure family and teacher understanding of diagnosed disabilities and to ensure program support of all children per HSPSS 1302.61,2. Serve as liaison between Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) and TTU CEHS as required by HSPSS 1302.63. Monitor electronic child files in Child Plus to ensure all standards are met.

    + Monitor weekly lesson plans to ensure program compliance with NAEYC program standards, HSPSS, and HHS. Participate in monthly planning meetings with teaching staff.

    + Monitor High Scope Curriculum Child Observation Record (COR) to ensure completion of child assessments, accuracy of teacher observations, and quality of anecdotal observations. Provide coaching and support to all teaching staff to ensure fidelity of assessment. Monitor formal assessments based on school readiness goals. Aggregate School Readiness data three times a year, and prepare the annual School Readiness Report.

    + Provide leadership and mentor Teachers and Classroom Assistants in all listed job duties. Assess Teacher's use of Conscious Discipline by completing Conscious Discipline Rubric through formal classroom observations twice a year. Assess classroom teaching practices by completing the Program Quality Assessment (PQA) through formal classroom observations twice a year. Use assessment data and informal observations to assist Program Director with teaching staff performance evaluations. Assist in delivery of Parent Education in compliance with HSPPS 1302.34

    + Work with program leadership to assess all education staff to identify strengths, areas of needed support, and which staff would benefit most from intensive coaching. Ensuring coaching aligns with school readiness goals. Implement and provide Practice- Based Coaching for education staff as required by HSPPS 1302.92.

    + Develop and provide training for all staff as needed based on evaluations and coaching session including working closely with Program Director and Wrap Around Care Specialist to facilitate monthly classroom assistant training.

    + Provide formal and informal classroom observations to help support teaching staff. This includes spending time in classrooms and supporting in times of challenging behaviors to model desired teaching practices and the use of Conscious Discipline. Provide classroom coverage as needed to ensure program quality and required ratios per HHS and HSPPS.
