    The Fleet Modernization Department drives maritime superiority across all warfare domains, modernizing Fleet capabilities within the Air, Surface, Undersea and Cyber domains, and enables Fleet lethality in a dynamic, complex, and contested maritime environment. Primary facilities are in Mclean, Virginia and Lexington Park, Maryland

     

    Roles & Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be responsible for Mission Engineering development and delivery to the United States Navy Future Vertical Lift and MH-60 Service Life Modernization programs. They will interface with senior and working level Navy and civilian personnel for product development, delivery, and discussion. Primary responsibilities will be development of mission engineering products while applying systems engineering principles.

    Basic Qualifications:

    + Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in science or engineering; or 6 years and Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

    + Mission engineering with SysML and Unified Architecture Framework

    + experience using Cameo Systems Modeler / MSOSA

    + Ability to support working and senior level face to face interactions with customer at Naval Air Station Patuxent River and MITRE Lexington Park

    + Understanding of naval aviation test procedures and requirements

    + Understanding of naval aviation rotary wing aircraft, weapons, sensors

    + Understanding of naval aviation unique environments such as the at sea environment (salt, fog) and the shipboard electromagnetic environment.

    + Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.

    + Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S. Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.

    + This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site presence.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Degrees and/or experience in aerospace and/or systems engineering

    + Test pilot school

    + Strong understanding of naval aviation processes such as safety of flight (flight clearances) and unique test environment such as dynamic interface testing for shipboard landings

    This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):

    Secret

    This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):

    Top Secret

    Salary compensation range and midpoint:

    $142,000 - $177,500 - $213,000 Annual
