We are currently accepting applications for our 2026 Internship programs.
The **Finance Intern** will support Valvoline Global Operations’ (VGO) Finance team. This position provides a hands-on learning experience in financial reporting and analysis. The intern will gain exposure to day-to-day financial planning activities that support business decisions.
_Valvoline Global Operations Headquarters is located in Lexington, KY. We prefer candidates willing to work an in-office work schedule (4x per week)._
This internship is designed to support both the intern's finance and accounting education and VGO's operational needs by offering hands-on assignments and real-time challenges that contribute to the success of the finance department and the company overall.
How You Will Make an Impact
+ **Financial Planning & Forecasting**
+ Assist in preparing monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range financial plans.
+ Build and update financial models to support revenue, margin, and expense planning.
+ Analyze budget vs. actual performance and identify key drivers of variances.
+ **Reporting & Analysis**
+ Support creation of monthly management reporting packages, dashboards, and KPI summaries.
+ Gather, validate, and synthesize data from multiple business units and systems.
+ Prepare ad-hoc analyses to answer leadership questions quickly and accurately.
+ **Business Partnering**
+ Work with Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Commercial teams to collect assumptions and validate inputs.
+ Help translate business initiatives into financial implications using zero-based budgeting principles.
+ Participate in meetings to understand operational drivers and cost structures.
+ **Modeling & Data Work**
+ Build and maintain Excel-based or Python-driven models to analyze trends (volume, pricing, mix, cost, productivity).
+ Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to support decision-making.
+ Improve model automation and streamline data flows where possible.
+ **Strategic & Project Support**
+ Support special projects such as pricing analysis, transformation savings tracking, headcount planning, or capital investment evaluations.
+ Assist in financial storytelling—turning data into insights and insights into recommendations.
+ **Tools & Systems Exposure**
+ Work with financial systems such as SAP, BPC, or Power BI.
+ Leverage advanced Excel/Sheets functions (Index/Match, SUMIFS, pivot tables, macros).
+ **General Internship Expectations**
+ Present findings and insights to FP&A managers and cross-functional leaders.
+ Document processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Demonstrate strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and attention to detail.
What You'll Need
+ Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
+ Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to relate to and inspire confidence with sophisticated business groups.
+ A collaborative, professional, and proactive mindset and a high-level of confidentiality.
+ Must be able to work on-site at VGO’s Lexington, KY headquarters.
