Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Laboratory Technician II to work for a life sciences company in a small food testing laboratory. This role involves hands-on sample processing, daily lab operations, and adherence to strict quality and safety standards. You will contribute to accurate and timely testing that ensures food safety and compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and regulatory requirements.
Compensation: $21/hr to $27/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment. Additionally, employees in this role will have access to paid sick leave and other paid time off benefits as required under the applicable law of the worksite location.
Responsibilities include:
• Perform daily lab tasks including opening/closing duties and sample processing
• Register incoming samples and maintain accurate records in LIMS system
• Conduct microbiological testing on food samples efficiently and accurately
• Verify and submit results promptly to meet turnaround goals
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and comply with health and safety regulations
• Identify process issues and propose solutions to supervisors
• Assist with client interactions, including sample pickups and drop-offs
• Support quality control and continuous improvement initiatives
• Follow SOPs, local work instructions, and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Requirements
• High School Diploma and 1–2+ years of laboratory experience
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for most of the shift
• Comfortable lifting up to 20 lbs and working in an ergonomic environment
• Basic technical skills: pipetting, weighing samples, handling media and equipment
• Strong attention to detail and trainability
• Must not be immunocompromised or have food allergies • BS in Microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field
• Experience with food testing
• Proficiency in plate reading and pathogen confirmation procedures
