    Job Description

    Insight Global is seeking a Purification Scientist Group Leader to join our client’s dynamic team focused on protein purification and discovery projects. This individual will spend the majority of their time in the lab (approximately 90%) performing and overseeing purification of antibodies, peptides, and proteins. They will work hands-on with advanced instrumentation such as AKTA, HPLC, TFF, and FLPC, troubleshooting and optimizing methods to ensure high-quality results and timely testing of weekly samples. In addition to technical expertise, this role requires strong leadership skills to manage a team of 5–6 scientists, conduct 1:1 meetings, performance reviews, and provide training and mentorship. The Group Leader will also participate in client meetings and drive continuous improvement by implementing new technologies and fostering a culture of learning and innovation.     Skills and Requirements

     

    Bachelor’s +4 years of experience or Master’s +2 years of experience

    Technical Expertise:

    - Strong foundational knowledge of protein purification and chromatography.

     

    - Hands-on experience with AKTA systems and general lab instrumentation.

     

    - Ability to troubleshoot and optimize purification workflows.

    Leadership Experience in Industry:

    - Proven track record managing teams in a laboratory setting.

     

    - Experience conducting training, performance reviews, and corrective actions.

    Communication & Collaboration:

    - Ability to lead client-facing discussions and represent technical progress clearly. - Familiarity with TFF (Tangential Flow Filtration) systems.

     

    - Experience with FLPC and advanced HPLC techniques.

     

    - Exposure to discovery-phase projects and method development.

     

    - Comfort with integrating new technologies and driving adoption.
