    Job Description

    Insight Global is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to build and maintain a comprehensive test infrastructure for a SATCOM Software product. In this role, you will be responsible for helping architect, implement, and maintain an automated System Test suite. You will work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot system issues, improve system reliability, and deploy updates to various testing environments. The role also requires active participation in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and design discussions.

    The day-to-day

    • Design and implement automated test frameworks across the stack (frontend, backend, and infrastructure)

    • Write and maintain integration, E2E, and system-level tests using tools like Pytest, Jest, and Playwright/Cypress

    • Test APIs (REST and gRPC) for functionality, security, and performance

    • Build and execute test plans in HIL environments to validate software on real hardware

    • Implement/integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions

    Skills and Requirements

    • 4+ years of experience in test automation or software quality roles, ideally with exposure to both frontend and backend testing

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and/or a related field

    • Strong programming skills in Python or other programming languages (Go, JavaScript, Java, etc.)

    • Experience with test frameworks such as Pytest, Jest, and Playwright/Cypress

    • Familiarity with Kubernetes cluster deployment and troubleshooting

    • Familiarity with REST and gRPC API testing

    • Strong software test experience with micro-service architected application containing both backend and web UIs communicating through APIs

    • Ability to set up and validate cloud (primarily AWS) and lab (Linux servers, VMs) infrastructures and simulate real-world scenarios

    • Familiar with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated build/test workflows - Programming experience in GO
