Job Overview
We're seeking a skilled **Electrical Engineer** with hands-on **UL 508A** experience to design, develop, and support industrial control panels for automation and manufacturing systems. You'll be a key player on our engineering team, working with customers and production teams to deliver compliant, reliable systems.
Responsibilities
+ Design industrial control panels in compliance with **UL 508A** , **NFPA 70** , and **NFPA 79** .
+ Create electrical schematics and panel layouts using **AutoCAD Electrical** or similar.
+ Develop bills of materials (BOMs), wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
+ Work with UL inspectors and internal QA to ensure panel shop certification compliance.
+ Support the panel build process with shop floor troubleshooting as needed.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, support, project management, PLC, and field service technicians.
Required Skills / Qualifications / Certifications / Tech Stack
Essential
+ **B.S. in Electrical Engineering** or equivalent technical degree.
+ **5+ years experience** designing and building UL 508A industrial control panels.
+ Proficiency in electrical CAD software ( **AutoCAD Electrical** , **EPLAN** , or similar).
+ Knowledge of **NEC** , **NFPA 79** , and relevant safety/grounding standards.
+ Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, relays, and industrial control components (e.g., WAGO, Advantech, Mitsubishi, ABB, and others).
Preferable
+ Experience working in a **UL-certified panel shop** .
+ Understanding of **machine safety systems** or functional safety design (ISO 13849, etc.).
+ Prior field installation or commissioning experience a plus.
