Our **Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD)** is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities, technology and operational excellence.
The **Dealer Service Tools (DST)** organization within Global Service delivers tooling solutions for Caterpillar partners, dealers, and customers to maintain and repair Caterpillar components, engines, and machines efficiently and safely. With emphasis on technician efficiency, safety, and compliance, DST develops and sources high-quality service tooling, supported and available through the Caterpillar distribution network.
As the **Engineering Manager (Dealer Service Tools),** you will lead the DST Engineering organization, which develops, maintains, and provides technical support for dealer tools and shop supplies across the enterprise. You will collaborate with all verticals (RI, CI, E&T) and Distribution Service Divisions (DSD) to enhance dealers’ operational capabilities and capacity. To do so, you will partner with Global Service teams to deliver solutions for customers through the release of high-quality service tools and shop supplies.
Reporting to this managerial role are three supervisors overseeing team leaders and engineers, a Black Belt, a worldwide Regulatory Compliance Engineer, an Engineering Specialist, a Product Service Engineer, and other support personnel. Success requires deep knowledge of Caterpillar engineering systems and processes, strong technical aptitude, awareness of dealer networks, and the ability to align global suppliers, dealers, and customers with the most appropriate solutions.

What You Will Do:
Strategic & Cultural Responsibilities
+ Demonstrate Caterpillar Leadership Attributes to effectively execute the business strategy.
+ Plan future resource needs and manage workforce transitions to ensure continuity.

+ Build partnerships within Caterpillar and with suppliers and dealers.

+ Hold primary accountability for the operating expense budget for your area.
Communication, Mentoring, and Relationship Management
+ Communicate and collaborate globally across DST teams, Caterpillar product groups, and suppliers.
+ Prepare documents and presentations for diverse audiences - downward, upward, and outward.
+ Mentor and coach others on new technologies, applications, and solutions.
+ Work cross-functionally with internal customers (Global Service partners, Product Groups, DSD teams) to inform decisions impacting products and processes.
Project Assignment and Execution
+ Deliver tools across the DST portfolio, including Caterpillar IP Specialty, Capital, Essential, Diagnostic/Test & Measurement tools, and PF Hand Tools & Shop Supplies.
+ Lead global engineering teams in Peoria, IL; Chennai, India; and Rapid City, SD.
+ Ensure timely delivery of high-impact engineering projects through strategic direction, prioritization, and barrier removal.
+ Drive accountability for project outcomes across global teams—aligning with business objectives, quality standards, and budget targets.
+ Provide engineering technical support and consulting services to Global Service, dealers, customers, and internal partners.

**• Education Requirement:** Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
**•** **Planning: Tactical & Strategic** : Ability to contribute to operational (short-term), tactical (1–2 years), and strategic (3–5 years) planning aligned with business objectives.
**•** **Decision Making & Critical Thinking** : Ability to analyze situations objectively and make informed decisions using appropriate methods, including informed judgment.
**•** **Technical Excellence** : Expertise in technology and application methods to solve complex technical challenges.
**•** **Communicating for Impact** : Ability to listen, adapt, and convey messages clearly to influence diverse audiences.
**•** **Managing People** : Ability to lead teams, recognize contributions, and address performance issues.
**•** **Collaborating Globally** : Ability to build networks across cultures and achieve shared goals.
**•** **Influencing Through Expertise** : Ability to use expertise to influence decisions and provide insights.
What Will Set You Apart (Top Candidates Will Have):
**•** Advanced degree is highly desired.
**•** Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive, directly related experience in engineering or technical roles.
**•** Leadership: At least 3 years of supervisory experience.

Summary Pay Range:
$156,000.00 - $234,000.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
