    Assoc Dir GTN Audit & Compliance

    YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The primary responsibilities of this role, Associate Director GTN Audit, Compliance and Performance are to:

    The Associate Director of Gross-to-Net Audit & Compliance Performance leads Bayer's strategic customer audit program including PBMs, Wholesalers and others. The role oversees and manages audits conducted by external parties to safeguard revenue, ensure contractual compliance, and optimize market access across the U.S. pharmaceutical landscape. This role requires expertise to effectively supervise external audit teams and ensure deliverables meet professional standards.

    The job specifically supports the following rationale for conducting customer audits:

    1. **Accuracy of Claims** : To ensure proper reimbursement and prevent revenue loss.

    2. **Contracts Compliance** : Verify compliance with key contractual terms for pricing, discounts and rebates.

    3. **Compliance with Regulations** : To ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.

    4. **Error Identification** : Detect discrepancies in claims eligibility, processing, invoicing and reporting.

    5. **Insights into Customer Operations** : Gain insights into customer operations, including PBM formulary & utilization management, Wholesaler and GPO roster management

    6. **Enhancing Transparency** : Uncover existing or perceived Market Access hurdles that may impact Bayer product utilization.

    7. **Improving Relationships** : Enhance mutual understanding and thereby fostering more constructive partnerships with customers.

     

    In addition, the GTN Audit & Compliance Performance role is critical to prepare and guide through audit settlement discussions with the customer and to recover any overpayments if warranted.

    Audit Planning and Execution

    + Develop customer audit targets and plans;

    + Lead audit pre-planning and kick-off meetings;

    + Assess accuracy of rebate amounts, price protection, and administrative fees paid to PBMs and other customers;

    + Analyze formulary placement and Medical policy of Bayer products in relation to customer agreements;

    + Conduct testing of claims to assess plan design specifics and competitive product positioning.

    Remediation and Reporting

    + Drive audit remediation by validating observations with customer and stakeholders;

    + Align internal stakeholders on remediation plans and escalate issues to senior management as necessary.

    Audit Oversight:

    + Oversee the activities of the external or internal auditor conducting customer audits;

    + Ensure audits are aligned with Bayer's customer agreements and industry benchmarks.

    Strategic Audit Program Development:

    + Develop and maintain a strategic customer audit program by expanding audits to more PBMs and/or other channels;

    + Identify, evaluate and prioritize customers to be selected for an audit based on multi-faceted criteria;

    + Lead projects aimed at improving operational processes from a Compliance perspective, including rebate contracting and operations.

    WHO YOU ARE

    Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

    Required Qualifications:

    + Strong knowledge of the US Healthcare environment across multiple segments and brands pertaining to Bayer’s global business;

    + Good understanding of Market Access channels, including pricing and reimbursement landscape;

    + Record of professional success, demonstrated through above average performance reviews, promotions, and relevant "extracurricular" activities/ engagements

    + Strong analysis and synthesis skills, including experience in facilitating insight generation;;

    + Strong knowledge of audit methodologies, risk management principles, and control environment evaluation, with demonstrated ability to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective measures;

    + Distinguished curiosity, interest and entrepreneurial spirit to innovate and find new solutions;

    + Effective management skills, as demonstrated by on-time, on-budget project delivery;

    + Proven track record of managing complex, high-value projects with measurable outcomes;

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Professional audit certification (CIA, IAP, or equivalent) demonstrating expertise in audit methodology and compliance frameworks;

    + 10+ years of overall full-time work experience, of which 3+ years of relevant experience in pharma / audit / data analytics or similar;

    + Graduate degree in Management, Business, Science, Marketing, or related field OR Bachelor’s degree in abovementioned field combined with MBA from globally leading school;

     

    Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $143,280 to $214,920. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
