Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Custom Order Engineer in El Paso, TX.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $68000 - $99000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION

The COE Engineer is responsible for accurately interpreting purchaser specifications and translating them into complex drawings and bills-of-material understandable by Manufacturing and Purchasing. The COE –is expected to be self-motivated, have excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. The COE – will report to the El Paso facility and be the point of contact for engineering regarding all engineered orders for El Paso with support from Asheville Design Engineering team. The COE will also coordinate efforts with Pune team members if applicable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

A. Develops a variety of complex drawings and bills-of-material based upon established product designs, which provides sufficient detail to accurately convey the purchaser’s equipment application.

B. Consults with plant and field sales engineers in interpreting and defining new equipment applications.

C. Coordinates mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products.

D. Supports with C.O.D., Manufacturing and Purchasing activities – when required – in interpreting information for the accurate production of equipment in accordance with the purchaser’s requirements.

E. Consults with the Quality Department in resolving issues after the equipment is shipped, when required.

F. Directs purchaser visits to approve or release equipment.

G. Conducts special development/application projects of a complex nature.

H. Informs in cost and cycle time improvement activities.

I. Plans travel as required to support any of the above.

J. Conducts technical training seminars, as required.

K. Provides technical training and guidance to department personnel.

L. Analyzes needs and recommends revisions to Department Policies and Procedures.

M. Other duties, projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution OR an Associate's Degree with 3 years of electrical distribution experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electrical or electronics engineering technology, electrical and computer engineering, or mechatronics from an accredited institution

• Previous COE experience in Low Voltage Assemblies

• Previous electrical experience.

• Knowledge of PLCs

• Knowledge of power distribution and control systems (LV and MV Switchgear, Panel boards and Switchboards, Motor Control Centers).
