Novant Health Foundation
The Philanthropy Manager plays a key role in advancing the mission of Novant Health Foundation by helping develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy. This position focuses on building and sustaining a strong major gift pipeline through meaningful donor relationships, strategic solicitation, and stewardship efforts within an assigned market.
Key Responsibilities
+ Support the development and execution of the Foundation’s comprehensive fundraising plan, including major gift initiatives, campaigns, and planned giving
+ Build, manage, and grow a major gift pipeline by actively cultivating and soliciting donors with annual giving capacity of $25,000 or more
+ Secure gifts of $25,000 or greater in support of assigned programs and priorities
+ Manage a portfolio of at least 75 active prospects and donors, including individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies
+ Qualify prospective donors for inclusion in the major gift pipeline to ensure sustainable philanthropic support
+ Partner with Foundation leadership, clinical leaders, and volunteers to align donor interests with organizational priorities
+ Serve as a Foundation liaison to an assigned medical center and/or manage specific Foundation programs or projects as needed
+ Maintain accurate and timely documentation of donor activity in the Foundation’s development database
Qualifications
Education
+ Bachelor’s degree required
Experience
+ Five (5) years of major gift and/or planned giving experience required
+ Healthcare fundraising experience preferred
Licensure/Certification
+ Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred
Required Skills & Competencies
+ Proven success soliciting and closing major gifts of $25,000 or more
+ Planned giving knowledge and experience highly desirable
+ Donor-centered fundraising approach with strong relationship-building skills
+ Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative, team-based environment
+ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility and trust with donors, leadership, and colleagues
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills; polished and persuasive communicator
+ Strong organizational, time management, and project management abilities
+ Self-starter who is results-oriented, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities
+ High level of professionalism and discretion; ability to handle confidential information
+ Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and respectful collaboration
+ Experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising databases
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
+ Passion for philanthropy and alignment with the mission and goals of Novant Health
