Job Summary:
The Assistant Teacher is responsible for assisting in the care, education and development of infants and children, both in a group situation and on an individual basis. Assists the Lead Teacher in providing a comprehensive, educationally sound program for children 6 weeks through 5 years of age.
Minimum Qualifications:
**Education:** High School Graduate or GED required.
**Experience:** Six months experience in a child-care center preferred.
**Licensure/Certification:** DSS regulations requires that CPR and First Aid certification by the National Safety Council be successfully completed within 90 days of employment.

**Knowledge/Skills:** Communicates effectively with infants, children and adults; strong oral and written skills
**Other:** Requires a mature individual who can work independently.
**Contacts:** Constant interaction with employees, parents and general public. On-going contact with other early childhood professionals and students.
