Job Summary
As the Program Supervisor of our Early Education Center, you will lead and develop the center in partnership with the Center Director and Assistant Center Director. This position will serve on an engaging and dynamic team, playing a key role in ensuring planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum are provided to the participants. You will support the planning and implementation of a safe and quality childcare program, providing day-to-day support of the site. You will support with the supervision of the staff and volunteers, maintaining required staff/child ratios, licensing compliance, and conducting regular staff meetings. You will be an important part of helping maintain professional relationships with families, center personnel, and the community.
Hiring Range: $26.00 - $30.00 / Hourly DOE
Responsibilities
+ Supports the planning and implementation of culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities within the curriculum. Supports the quality and completion of all program plans, including lesson, behavior and event plans.
+ Works directly with children to maintain the appropriate teacher-to-child ratio for approximately 60% of their scheduled hours.
+ Professionally communicates as needed confidential and evaluative information with parents/guardians including newsletters, individual parent communication and parent/teacher conferences.
+ Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
+ Support the Center with accurate record keeping, troubleshooting and management of the food program, Tadpoles and Teaching Strategies among others.
+ Maintains professional relationships with families, facility/center personnel and the community. May plan and conduct events for guardians/parents.
+ Maintain required records according to YMCA and DCYF standards, including attendance records, immunization records, registration information, accident reports, discipline records and fire evacuation records.
+ Ensures that site supplies are maintained.
+ Ensures developmentally appropriate classrooms including appearance, décor and cleanliness of site.
+ May supervise a group of children to ensure their health and safety and to provide for a positive experience for each child.
+ Prepare and serve snacks.
+ Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.
+ Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Three years or more of experience working with children ages 0-5 years old, childcare, tutoring or nannying.
+ Six months or more of supervisory experience.
+ Required Education per DCYF requirements including High school graduate or equivalent.
+ 21 years of age or older.
+ Ability to model and demonstrate Y values; caring, respect, responsibility and honesty.
+ Experience planning and implementing group activities.

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
+ Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
+ Have completed 45 credits hours specific to Early Childhood Education of 100-level or above college-level coursework - must complete an ECE state certificate or equivalent or complete within 2 years of hire
+ Previous experience in Early Childhood Education
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
+ Role may require standing, walking, squatting, sitting, typing, bending, reaching, twisting, repetitive hand movements, and driving.
+ Hearing must be adequate to perform job duties in person, over the telephone, and in virtual meetings.
+ Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently in person, over the telephone, and in virtual meetings.
+ Visual acuity must be adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of information from printed sources and computer screens.
+ Must be able to remain stationary in a sitting or standing position up to 95% of the time.
+ Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move anywhere from 5 lbs. - 50 lbs.
+ Requires lifting above the shoulders occasionally
+ Must have the physical ability and dexterity to perform the requisite heath care service.
+ Requires exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, medical preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
REGULAR WORKING CONDITIONS
+ This position will spend most of time in an indoor office/classroom environment.
+ Requires driving and local travel up to 10% of the time.
+ This position will have intermittent supervision.
+ The regular weekly schedule for this position will vary Monday-Friday between 6:30am-6:30pm.
+ Position may occasionally require some evenings or weekends to meet job requirements.
