Job Description

**Turner and Townsend** are seeking an experienced **Associate Director of Electrical Engineering** with a strong focus on **data center design and operations** . This role will lead electrical engineering initiatives for mission-critical facilities, ensuring reliability, scalability, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

+ **Leadership & Strategy**

+ Oversee electrical engineering design for data center projects from concept through commissioning.

+ Develop and implement electrical infrastructure strategies aligned with business objectives.

+ Mentor and guide engineering teams, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to best practices.

+ **Design & Technical Expertise**

+ Lead design of power distribution systems, UPS, generators, switchgear, and grounding systems.

+ Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and other relevant codes.

+ Collaborate with mechanical and IT teams for integrated solutions.

+ **Project Management**

+ Manage budgets, schedules, and resources for multiple projects.

+ Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

+ Review and approve electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations.

+ **Risk & Reliability**

+ Implement redundancy strategies (N+1, 2N) for critical systems.

+ Conduct failure mode analysis and develop contingency plans.

+ Ensure uptime and reliability targets are met or exceeded.

+ SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

Qualifications

+ **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).

+ **Experience:** 10+ years in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in data center design or operations.

+ **Certifications:** PE license strongly preferred.

Skills:

+ Expertise in power systems, load calculations, and energy efficiency.

+ Familiarity with Tier standards (Uptime Institute) and data center best practices.

+ Strong leadership and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

+ Large-scale data center projects (hyperscale or enterprise).

+ Knowledge of renewable energy integration and sustainability practices.

+ Experience with BIM and electrical modeling software.
