Saint-Gobain Life Sciences is seeking an experienced **Production Supervisor on 2nd Shift** to join our team in Akron, OH. The ideal candidate will oversee day-to-day operations in our **extrusion department** , while supporting compounding, material handling, and maintenance teams to ensure the achievement of facility and corporate objectives. This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and exceptional communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

As a **Production Supervisor** , you will:

- **Monitor and manage performance indicators** related to production, quality, safety, and budget variances (40%).

- **Lead personnel activities,** including employee selection, training, skill assessment, overtime coordination, and discipline (30%).

- **Ensure safety awareness:** Promote and enforce safe work practices and compliance with company policies and procedures (10%).

- **Drive continuous improvement** by leading and prioritizing Lean, Six Sigma, and World-Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects (10%).

- **Resolve manufacturing challenges:** Provide technical support to prevent and address production and operational issues (10%).

Education:

+ **Preferred:** Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.

Experience:

+ **Required:** 1-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a **unionized environment** .

Skills:

+ Strong computer skills (MS Office, production reporting, MRP systems, Kronos/UKG Timekeeping).

+ Continuous improvement expertise (LEAN, Six Sigma, WCM).

+ Excellent mathematical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

+ Ability to read schedules and metrics and act accordingly.

Leadership & Communication:

+ Proven ability to adapt to change and lead teams with a positive and directive approach.

+ Demonstrated capacity to build trust and empower employees.

+ Strong collaboration and transparent communication skills.
