The Student Affairs Coordinator plays a key role in enhancing the student/resident experience at the School of Dental Medicine by coordinating key programs, services, and events within Student Affairs. As the first point of contact for visitors, students, residents, and other community members, the Student Affairs Coordinator provides professional and welcoming customer service and represents the office with a high level of responsiveness and care. This position collaborates closely with students, faculty, staff, and university partners to foster an engaging, inclusive, and supportive campus environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Front-Line Customer Service
+ Serve as the first point of contact for the Office of Student Affairs, greeting and assisting visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
+ Respond to inquiries, provide accurate information, and share appropriate resources.
+ Maintain a welcoming and service-oriented office atmosphere.
Student Programming & Engagement
+ Coordinate and oversee wellbeing programming, including planning, grant applications, implementation, facilitation, and assessment.
+ Coordinate and support student matriculation leadership program and related initiatives.
+ Serve as a liaison to student organizations and clubs, providing administrative and operational support.
+ Support special events, workshops, and student-related activities (Professional Ceremony, White Coat Ceremony, Commencement, awards and recognition events)
Project Management
+ Co-lead and coordinate the annual yearbook project, including content collection, vendor communication, timeline management, and distribution.
Administrative & Office Operations
+ Provide administrative, operational and communication support for the pre and post-doctoral Geriatric Dental Medicine Program and Geriatrics course work.
+ Serve as the Title IX Resource Facilitator by acting as a primary point of contact for students and residents seeking information or support, attending monthly university Title IX committee meetings, collaborating with Title IX Deputy Directors on active cases, and presenting or assisting with Title IX-related trainings as needed.
+ Manage daily office operations, including reception coverage, departmental email account, inventory tracking, purchasing, mail distribution, and upkeep of shared spaces.
+ Perform other duties as assigned to support the Associate Dean and Director and to advance the mission of the school and the university.

Required Skills
+ Bachelor's Degree required; 2+ years of experience in higher education, preferable in student affairs, student support services or student activities.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.

+ Ability to work collaboratively and creatively.
+ Interest in working with students in higher education, particularly with graduate, international, and non-traditional student populations.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Blackboard, Outlook, Google Applications, Canva, event scheduling and resources management systems.
+ Occasional weekday evenings, weekend, and early morning hours required. In periods of heavy workload, workdays of greater than 8 hours are possible.
