Job Title: HVAC Technician** **Job Description
As an HVAC Technician, you will play a crucial role in assembling, modifying, setting up, and conducting performance tests on air conditioning systems, with a focus on water-source heat pumps. You will work closely with the engineering team in the test lab, troubleshooting and testing completed units to ensure optimal performance.
Responsibilities
+ Assemble, modify, set up, and conduct performance and other tests on air conditioning and refrigeration systems, sub-systems, and component assemblies, with a particular focus on water-source heat pumps.
+ Assist with the maintenance of lab tools and equipment, including annual, monthly, and daily preventative maintenance as prompted by PM systems and lab supervisor.
+ Contribute to improvements in lab systems and tools to ensure continuous improvement in processes and procedures, including writing and editing procedures.
+ Set up and instrument items in test rooms or field locations as required.
+ Perform tests on units according to the laboratory work schedule and applicable test procedures.
+ Monitor and accurately record test data, calculate results, or enter data into a computer to formulate results for presentation to the Engineering team.
+ Maintain test rooms, instrumentation, and reconditioning apparatus.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of HVAC service technician experience or operational knowledge of HVAC equipment through customer support.
+ 1+ years of experience with thermal cycles and understanding of heat exchangers, TXVs, fan motors, and compressors.
+ 1+ years of experience with machine operation, blueprint reading, and hand tool usage.
+ High attention to detail and strong troubleshooting skills.
+ Good communication skills.
+ Knowledge of simple electrical circuits.
+ Familiarity with Windows PC.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Previous field service technician experience and troubleshooting issues in the field is preferred.
+ EPA Universal certification is advantageous.

Work Environment
Work in a comfortable air-conditioned environment with a dynamic schedule. The position offers either a 50-hour second shift from Monday to Friday, 2:30 pm - 12:30 am, or a rotating schedule of two weeks on day shift starting at 7:00 AM and two weeks on second shift starting at 2:30 pm. The official workweek is 5 days, 8 hours per day, but current needs require working 10 hours per day during the week, with first shift workers also working Saturdays from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, totaling 50 to 58 hours per week.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
