Job Title: IV Pharmacy Technician
Job Description
As an IV Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for mixing IV and other pharmaceutical preparations using proper sterile compounding techniques. You will adhere to all documented instructions, warnings, procedures, and best practices to ensure safe and effective drug preparation. Your role includes performing environmental monitoring, sanitation, testing, and other activities as required by federal and state pharmacy regulations and USP-797 standards. Additionally, you will maintain accurate drug inventory through purchasing, receiving, stocking, pulling, counting, and tracking drug items in accordance with established policies and procedures. You will clean the ante-room and clean room according to USP-797 standards and maintain clean room logs, as well as verify lot numbers and perform periodic inventory checks.
Responsibilities
+ Mix IV and other pharmaceutical preparations using proper sterile compounding techniques.
+ Adhere to documented instructions, warnings, procedures, and best practices for safe drug preparation.
+ Perform environmental monitoring, sanitation, testing, and other activities as required by pharmacy regulations and USP-797.
+ Maintain accurate drug inventory through purchasing, receiving, stocking, pulling, counting, and tracking drug items.
+ Clean ante-room and clean room according to USP-797 standards and maintain clean room logs.
+ Verify lot numbers and perform periodic inventory checks.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in sterile compounding, pharmacy, and infusion techniques.
+ Knowledge of USP 797 guidelines.
+ Current and active VA State License as a pharmacy technician.
+ Experience in clean room environments (certification is a plus).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience as a pharmacy technician preferred.
+ Home infusion therapy experience is preferred but not required.
+ Well-organized with the ability to set priorities and work independently.
+ Effective communication skills for both written and verbal interactions.
+ Ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
+ Required computer skills.
Work Environment
You will work in a closed-door pharmacy and at-home infusion environment. The work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotating on-call weekends, mainly Saturdays. You will be part of a team of 15 people, working collaboratively to ensure the highest quality of service.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chantilly, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
