The Lab Technician is responsible for ensuring the integrity of our product throughout the manufacturing process and during release. This role involves utilizing standardized techniques and procedures to conduct and analyze tests on sensitive samples. As a crucial member of the Quality Team, the Lab Technician promotes a culture of quality and food safety.
Responsibilities

+ Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and HACCP requirements.
+ Complete required laboratory training and follow established SOPs accurately.
+ Record, interpret, and enter test results accurately in specified forms and LIMS software.
+ Perform analytical and sensory tests on in-process and finished products promptly.
+ Identify and report data inconsistencies to necessary personnel, including escalation when needed.
+ Receive, handle, and store samples according to SOP.
+ Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform corrective actions while keeping records.
+ Handle, organize, and store chemical substances, fluids, and compressed gases safely as per Safety Data Sheet guidelines.
+ Work independently and in teams across departments.
+ Conduct verifications on testing standards, equipment, and instruments to ensure accuracy.
+ Participate in proficiency and collaborative testing.
+ Communicate effectively with other departments via various channels.
+ Take on additional responsibilities as needed.
+ Perform routine tasks with minimal supervision.
+ Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
+ Train colleagues and assume QC Specialist and Manager responsibilities when required.
+ Maintain samples of tested products to confirm results as necessary.
+ Manage inventory of testing supplies and notify manager for re-orders.
+ Compare test results with standards to ensure products meet specifications.

Work Environment
The position operates on a 7 AM to 7 PM alternating schedule, with every other weekend off. The role requires adherence to environmental, health, and safety policies and objectives. The work environment emphasizes maintaining a professional and organized workspace.

This is a Contract position based out of Chattanooga, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
