    Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer or Designer to specialize in the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems. This role includes designing steam distribution, duct sizing and distribution, chiller and boiler systems within healthcare, government, multi-family, federal, and education facilities. You will be crucial in ensuring buildings have safe and efficient plumbing systems that meet local building codes and regulations. This position carries overall responsibilities for the mechanical design of projects and requires close collaboration with other engineering and architecture disciplines.

    Responsibilities

    + Conceptually develop high-quality construction documents with HVAC equipment, ductwork, and piping systems.

    + Assist in disciplines such as Fire Suppression, Plumbing, Medical Gas, and HVAC (ductwork + piping).

    + Support project managers during the design process.

    + Coordinate resource needs and assign tasks with project managers.

    + Attend client and design review meetings.

    + Develop construction documents and design details.

    + Conduct on-site construction administration and site inspection visits to evaluate work quality.

    + Coordinate within a multi-disciplinary project team.

    + Utilize extensive experience within a professional services firm.

    + Mentor and provide guidance as a technical educator for staff.

    Essential Skills

    + 8+ years of HVAC design experience, particularly in healthcare, municipal, government, higher education, lab, and other commercial projects.

    + Proficiency in Revit.

    + Bachelor's or Associate's degree related to design.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + PE license or eligibility (having EIT is beneficial).

    Work Environment

    Our office is modern and up-to-date, featuring an open concept with cubicles and offices with glass walls and doors. The environment is very collaborative. Located downtown, we offer plenty of street parking and access to a parking garage. The office includes a gym and is undergoing expansion. The dress code is business casual. This is a first shift position with flexible start and end times between 7-9 AM to 4-6 PM, with some hybrid flexibility after the first 90 days.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.86 - $52.88/hr.
