    The medical assistant will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. The role involves supporting clinician and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, and examining and treating the patient population. The medical assistant is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision.

    + Support clinician and care management teams in assessing and maintaining chronic disease management.

    + Examine and treat patient population.

    + Conduct laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

    + Communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.

    + Assess emergencies and act accordingly.

    + Float from one location to another as patient queue demands.

    Essential Skills

    + Knowledge of basic medical terminology.

    + Phlebotomy skills.

    + Ability to assess emergencies and act accordingly.

    + Ability to communicate effectively and maintain working relationships.

    + Flexibility to float between locations.

    + Independence, responsibility, and organization.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School diploma required.

    + 2 years of experience within a clinic/back office healthcare setting.

    + Medical Assistant diploma OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR 3 years' Medical Assistant experience.

    + Phlebotomy experience required.

    + Must be able to take vitals (manual vitals preferred).

    + Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

    + Active driver's license required.

    + Experience with TriMed EMR preferred.

    Work Environment

    The position is 100% onsite in a Hollywood pediatric clinic. The shift hours are Mondays to Thursdays from 1:30pm to 7pm and every other Saturday from 7:45am to 12pm. Travel between clinics is compensated at $0.67 per mile, and a $20 gas card is provided if asked to float outside of core locations. Willingness to train on manual vitals is available.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $16577.00 - $25521.60/yr.
