    Job Title: Lab Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to assist in insect rearing for research purposes. This role involves maintaining insect colonies, feeding, cage upkeep, media preparation, and handling all life stages of insects. The technician will also assist with laboratory experiments, data collection and entry, and plant maintenance. Candidates should be team-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills.

    Responsibilities

    + Maintain and feed insect colonies.

    + Perform cage upkeep and media preparation.

    + Handle all life stages of insects.

    + Assist with laboratory experiments and data collection.

    + Enter data accurately and maintain plant systems.

    + Follow and maintain ISO Quality Management Standards.

    + Wear proper PPE and adhere to safety protocols.

    + Generate and evaluate lab-scale samples for various research and technical programs.

    + Troubleshoot and maintain equipment for production and processing.

    + Maintain logs, notebooks, and computer records.

    + Conduct stoichiometric calculations for production.

    + Understand and follow EHS SOPs and Responsible Care regulations.

    + Manage multiple tasks and work with multiple supervisors.

    + Interface with manufacturing, research personnel, and customers.

    Essential Skills

    + 4-6 years of experience in a laboratory setting.

    + Proficiency in chemistry and biology.

    + Familiarity with ISO standards.

    + Strong multitasking abilities.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is indoors with controlled temperatures, requiring both sitting and standing throughout the day. The role involves lifting up to 25 pounds. No handling of chemicals is required. Proper PPE, including safety goggles, respirators, and gloves, is mandatory to ensure a safe working environment.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Union City, TN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
